Rowan Rocket's Modern Space & Robot Nursery Tour

It took us 11 months to conceive. And I started planning for the arrival of Rowan Rocket long before that. I knew he'd be a boy, I knew his middle name would be Rocket, and I knew his nursery would be robot and space themed. Before I ever started peeing on sticks there were space themed sleepers in his closet and mid-century bookshelves in his bedroom. I. Am. A. Planner. But, was I still working on this little room even after he was born? Yes. Am I still going in to this day and changing things around? Definitely.

Anyway, without further ado... come on in!

Wallpaper: Robot by French Bull (I purchased on Gilt)

Dresser: Ikea Sveio (discontinued--which sucks I love this thing!)

Ray Gun Prints: CollageaRama on Etsy  on left (I cannot recommend them, it took ages and my order was mixed up and they were not friendly.) | RetroBookArt on Etsy on right (Who were great! But, at posting time, are currently on break.)
Frames: Ikea (I believe discontinued)

Drawer dividers: Ikea Skubb

Drawer dividers: Ikea Skubb (but I believe this color was discontinued--white above is still available)

Frame:  HomeGoods
Stacker Toy: Ikea Leka
Coffee cup: vintage

Rocket Bank: HomeGoods
Tins: Ikea Tripp (discontinued)

Never Grow Up Pillow: Pillowfort for Target

Rocket String Art: Pillowfort for Target
Robot/Space Mobile: Lolli Living Bot Dot

Window valance: Lolli Living Bot Dot
Crib: Babyletto Skip (Appears to be sold out everywhere which is too bad, I love this--even though Rowan has never once slept here. It converts to a toddler bed, so maybe one day?)

Square Mirrors: Ikea Malma

Under Crib Storage: P'Kolino Monster
Rail cover: is actually a reversible crib bumper by Lolli Living

Crib Skirt: Dwell Studio Galaxy (seems to be sold out most everywhere, so if you want this, you should scoop it up ASAP)

Rocket Sheets: Pottery Barn Kids (discontinued)

Lovey: River Kippin
Cat Rattle: Ikea Leka
Rug: Target

Decal: Target (Looks like it's no longer available. Love the way this looks but many of the stars are peeling off so I can't say I'd recommend it even if you can find it.)

Corner Cabinet: Ikea PS 2014

Diaper Pail: Ubbi
Trash Can: HomeGoods
Robot Bucket: Target (was an Easter basket)
Toy box: vintage
Robot rattles: Lolli Living

 Robot bank: Target
Rocket lamp: Pillowfort for Target
Monkey: Petit Collage

Rocket prints: WalMart

Wire Baskets: Target

Bunny Lovey: Ikea Leka

Changing table: Vintage (This was actually in my parents' house for probably 20 years and was on the way to the trash pile when they asked me if I wanted it--my step mom had the peg legs squirreled away in the attic. I'd never realized this was a mid century piece. Uhm, yes. I want this. Complete coincidence that the color was an exact match for the crib & the bookshelf and the white knobs tied in with the white dresser.  We store diaper stuff and blankets in here.)

Changing pad cover: Dwell Studio Galaxy

Mobile: Ikea Leka (discontinued)

Wire Wall Storage: HomeGoods
Starburst mirrors: Target

Book ledges: Ikea Mosslanda
Rocket lamp: My husband and I made this! Actual lamp part is a paper floor lamp that's been discontinued but is similar to the Ikea Solleftea. The top is an Ikea Foto pendant lamp.

We painted this wall ourselves! Tutorial coming soon.
Blue Lamp: Target (On clearance for like $5! PS: Lip in Shameless has the same one in his college dorm!)

Swivel Recliner: Pulaski Sutton Swivel Recliner (found on Zulily)
Pillow: You're Lyon Designs

Frame: Ikea (discontinued)
Robot & Rocket: Target (discontinued)

Shelf: Thrifted

Elephant: Flea Market
Alien puzzle & yo-yo: Micheal's
Rolling toy & large yoyo: vintage
Canvas art: Target

Bookshelf: estate sale
Photo frame: Lolli living
Puzzles: Janod (I added velcro to the pieces to get them to stay like this.)

Letters: Urban Outfitters (sold out)
Switch plate: estate sale (They were still on the walls! I went around and unscrewed them so I could buy them. Don't worry, I asked first!)

Night light: Target
Colors & Numbers Books: Orla Kiely
Teething necklaces: Chewable Charm

When you turn the night light on there's an alien inside!

Book ends: Lolli living

Squirrel needlepoint: estate sale (This was really just here because I bought this bookcase with a nail sticking out of it here that I wanted covered. This specific art has since been moved downstairs to the Playroom & swapped out for some space art.)

  1. This room is outta this world! (see what I did there?) I love the wall decals in the corner. Unsolicited advice? Take a super sharp box cutter and prick a hole where there are bubbles (I'm pretty sure I can see one from the glare in the photo) and then you can flatten out the bubble.
